This fern is displayed at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History and is 4200 years old. It never dies because it is contained in a glass display with no dirt, enabling the plant to counter-maneuver the shrinking process.

This specimen is actually more orange than it is brown, perhaps hinting at orange poop (also known as stinky orange mush with chunks of unknown red substance and bits of black spots).
